Are Your Coins Worth More Than Face Value?

The price of silver is on the up, having doubled in the last 12 months. This is good news for alternative investors - especially those that have a large coin collection that precedes 1947. Why? because coins minted before 1947 contained real silver, and dealers are now valuing this coins at nearly forty times their face value.  A sixpenny bit for example, is now worth a pound, the old shilling coin is now worth £2.
If you have any of these coins in a collection or hidden away in a drawer, you should consider taking them to a dealer rather than delivering them to a bank to exchange them for their face value.
